Chevron - Case Study
Chevron Aircraft Maintenance IT/COMMUNICATIONS SETUP
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Chevron Aircraft Maintenance provides complete Aerospace Solutions for the aircraft maintenance industry. With almost 40 years of aircraft engineering experience supporting Worldwide based organisations, Chevron has the track record, expertise and the versatility necessary to satisfy the most demanding standards required by the aerospace industry. CCS IT Solutions Ltd’s mission was to setup all the communications for their site at Glasgow Prestwick Airport. This included a full network design and deployment.
A Wi-Fi network was required for this setup, therefore numerous WatchGuard access points were installed throughout the hangar, this was planned out and strategically fitted to insure full connectivity throughout the 747 hangar. This was essential for Chevron Aircraft Maintenance due to the way they work, they always require access to multiple Wi-Fi enabled devices when working on various aircraft.
A WatchGuard firewall was deployed and configured using the Security Suite, this gives the site the required security to prevent cyber attacks using intelligent built in features like intrusion protection and gateway antivirus. A secure site to site VPN connection was created to their head office in Manchester, this allows them to utilise their services at the head office, by doing this it enables them not to have to double up on certain services, control things centrally and as a result is financially more beneficial as a company.
A 1GB/1GB leased line was installed using our trusted partner M247, we have been using M247 for over 10 years. Familiarity and up time is key when creating a remote site and the foundation of any site. The connectivity can be a single point of failure for a well designed, secure infrastructure. So having a company you trust providing this connectivity is very important.
Various client computer was installed and configured across the hangar to be able to gain access to their business-critical applications, these are now pro-actively monitored by CCS IT Solutions Ltd both remotely and on-site if required using CCS IT Solutions Ltd tech support team and our quick response support ticketing system, this enables them to get fast responses as and when they require it. We are able to proactively support this and other clients from our head office in Manchester using our remote management software SolarWinds MSP.
“CCS IT Solutions Ltd has been engaged as our outsourced IT support for approximately 14 years. They have successfully fully supported over the years the growth of our company both at our main head office and other new sites. We would not hesitate recommending CCS to other potential customers”
