5 key changes clients are making to beat the challenges of coronavirus

Today at CCS IT Solutions Ltd, we closed our office for the first time in 25 years.  

10 years ago, this option would have been a lot more of a stressful situation and a bigger decision than it was for us to make now. However, as we can work from anywhere, and at any time, it had minimal negative impact to us as a company. The decision was easy and simple to make under the current climate. This has all been made possible due to the technology we use to power our business.  

We currently use products such as Solarwinds RMM & MSP Manager to support clients. This gives us an overview of all our client’s networks and individual client computers. The PSA allows us to record all the outstanding IT Support cases as well as securely document work being carried out. This is a SaaS (Software As A Service) product so can be accessed anywhere, at any time, from any browser, and as we use 2FA (2 Factor Authentication), our security isn’t compromised.  

Office365, Microsoft Teams is used to setup conference calls and keep up to date with any correspondence using the chat channels with individuals or a group environment. These all link nicely and effectively to SharePoint Online, allowing us to collaborate with specific documents. There’s even a cool blur out background feature button that prevents people from seeing exactly where you are working from (see PS of a Tech Meeting we had this morning.)

Accounts and invoicing continue as normal as we use Xero for our accounting software. This is also a SaaS product and can be accessed from any web browser or the mobile application. 

All incoming calls continue to be answered, monitored and transferred through our cloud PBX. This is supplied by Reliance Networks using soft phones through our laptops, all we required was a headset. Outgoing calls are also made through the same PBX system so our office phone number is always the number we call from. 

All the above strategic decisions have been implemented over time to allow all our users more flexibility in the way we work. It’s made scaling up and down an easy process too.
